Over the weekend, the former CEO of Godfather’s Pizza, Herman Cain has been in buoyant mood since his surprising win in the straw poll taken at the Florida Presidency 5 conference. This has led to a surge in attention from the media, an increase in support, and a tidal wave of fund raising.
Following the straw poll, although Cain is still not highly considered as a nominee, the fact that he won by such a decisive amount over Rick Perry in second place, had many people raising their eyebrows.
Polls released on Monday by CNN show that Cain is still trailing, behind Newt Gingrich, Mitt Romney and Perry but Cain’s achievement certainly reignited a campaign that recently had somewhat stagnated.
